59th Annual Butler County Fire School

The Butler County Fire Chief's Association is proud to announce the 59th Annual Fire School to be held June 5-6, 2010 at Slippery Rock University and Butler County Community College (Public Safety Training Facility). The offering includes a variety of 20 courses.
Butler County Fire Chief Association’s (BCFCA)and FireDEX of Butler announce the Fifth Annual ScholarshipFund that includes Two (2) $2,000 awards. Applicants must complete a three-page essay on the topic: “What experiences have led you to choose your educational field and career goals?"
Rules -
Application: Application must be completed in entirety
CoverPage: Essay title and your name
Essay: No more than three typed pages, 8-1/2” x 11”, double-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman font, with 1” top, side and bottom margins.
Please do not staple the pages or use a report cover. Submit the pages with a paperclip in the upper left-hand corner.
Eligibility: Applicants must be an active member or immediate family to an active member of any of the Butler County Fire Departments, EMS or HAZMAT Units.
Winners will be announced and contacted by Friday, May 7th, 2010. Two winners will be announced and awards will be presented Saturday, June 5th, 2010 at the Annual Butler County Fire School Banquet at Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Station. Essays will be judged on originality, content and presentation. A panel of judges will select the two that best meet the requirements. Consideration will be given to the applicants’ extra-curricular activities, community involvement, employment and honors/awards. Applicant winners are required to be present at the June 5th Fire School Banquet to receive their award and to give a short acceptance speech.
